I was not present for this event. I did not get harassed myself in my limited time there, thankfully, but it can happen to anyone. Even when attending something as fun and friendly as a convention for MLP fans, keep your wits about you, and try to always go places with a friend (especially if it's out drinking.)

You may have seen this earlier today, but it bears repeating. Horizon's blog on attempted date rape at a Bronycon room party is a serious matter. While it's good to see that the people there were able to help the sedated women to safety, the fact that it happened is both distressing and unacceptable. We can and should be better than this, and I'm glad to see a lot of us are.

This year at Bronycon, at least three women had their drinks spiked with date-rape drugs.

You guys need to read this blog from Horizon about an attempted date-rape that occurred at BronyCon. In the comments, it was revealed that there has also been an attempt at Pacific PonyCon (the individual responsible for the incident at PPC was also at Babscon). It terrifies me that I've been to all of these conventions.

This is one of the many reasons I respect Kurt Cobain as a person. He didn't tolerate men who grope, cop a feel and inappropriately grab girls from behind, as you can see in the video. Men like that deserve a swift kick in the knackers, as well as a demotion from the title of 'man'. 'Pig' sounds more accurate.
